#Positively Stressed - Week 10

My family left me…

To go on vacation! (Well, someone has to stay behind to watch our adorable 8+ year-old puppies!) 🐶

Going from a 3-person, 2-dog household to a 1-person, 2-dog household has been a big shift in routine. And, as we all know, change causes #Stress.

Interestingly, the Hawthorne Studies suggest that change can also boost productivity. But beyond the research, we all know how our carefully curated routines feel like the anchor that keeps us grounded.

For me, it’s the simple act of being woken up at 6:30am by my almost-4-year-old asking for breakfast. Without that, my body still wakes up at the same time but isn’t sure what to do next. I wonder, do I need to get up? What about the next routine? And the one after that?

For some, breaking routines can feel liberating and refreshing. For others – like me – it can lead to a feeling of uncertainty, even a bit of malaise.

Thankfully, I’ve got my puppies to keep me on track. And my family will be back soon enough to restore the balance! 🙌

How do you navigate disruptions in your routine? Do you embrace it or find it challenging?
